Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass…its about learning how to dance in the rain. We create our internal experience of reality by choosing our thoughts, feelings and beliefs (our interpretations) as humans are “meaning’ making machines. Each moment is a new opportunity to think differently, create differently, choose differently regardless of the moments, thoughts or beliefs that came before. When life is working in our favor, our thoughts, feelings and actions are in alignment and the feeling one gets is like floating down stream or for some of us paddling a class 4 rapid…consuming life and opportunities with open arms and great gratitude. When we are “off-our-game” the feeling is similar to swimming up stream, the waters current, people and circumstances seem to be “getting-in-our-way” or providing ample resistance or blocking us; thus making the swim all that much more difficult to navigate. This is when we hit pay dirt, a perfect time to ask the question; What is it I am meant to learn? or as I say “What is it my soul is seeking me to learn?” It’s a wonderful opportunity for learning, healing and yes for course correction and it all starts with your thoughts. H.G. Wells once said “We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and a mystery.” Just remember we are divine beings having a human experience so whatever you create, or choose…. If that is not working for you, you can simply choose again and create again in an instant, turn from swimming up stream to floating down the river letting the current move you, just remember this… life isn’t like a disneyland ride, you can’t stop the current from flowing, but you can shift your direction.
This weeks focus: Look at areas in your life where you feel like you’re swimming up stream, and ask the question…What am I meant to learn from this?
Is there something you missed?
Are you out of integrity?
Are you being your word?
Are you making broken or false promises?
Are you taking-on or are over-responsible for other people and their actions or missed actions? (perfectionist picture in play)
Are you not taking responsibility for your actions or thoughts or projections?
Are you playing the victim?
I know its heavy and so much to think about… really aren’t you tired of swimming up stream?
Choose your thoughts and your actions, take responsibility for your reality.
And choose them powerfully.
